> ## Documentation Index > Fetch the complete documentation index at: https://teamper.com/docs/llms.txt > Use this file to discover all available pages before exploring further. # Cancel a leave request > Cancel a Teamper leave request when you no longer need the time off. ## Overview If a leave request is no longer needed, you can cancel it from the request details when Teamper allows that action. Teamper keeps the request record and changes its status instead of removing it. ## Before you cancel Check the request status first. The option to cancel depends on what stage the request is in and what actions are available to you. ## Cancel a request 1. Open Teamper. 2. Open the leave request you want to stop. 3. Click **Cancel request** if it is available. 4. Enter a short cancellation reason. 5. Confirm the cancellation. ## What happens next * The request status changes to `cancelled` * The cancellation note is saved with the request record * Related balance, wallchart, and inbox views update to match the new status Submitted leave requests cannot be edited or deleted.
