Overview

Company requests help employees and admins submit operational requests in one shared workflow. The request record keeps the request details, approval history, fulfillment status, assignment, and timeline comments together so everyone with access sees the same source of truth.

Who can use this

  • Employees submitting their own requests
  • Company admins and HR admins submitting or managing requests
  • Managers or other employees assigned as request approvers
  • Employees assigned to fulfill approved requests

Before you start

  • Make sure at least one active request type already exists
  • Confirm you can sign in to the correct company workspace
  • If you are submitting for someone else, make sure you have admin access

Step-by-step guide

Submit a company request

  1. Open Requests.
  2. Click New request.
  3. Choose a Request type.
  4. If you are a company admin, choose Requested for when you are submitting for another employee.
  5. Fill in the request fields.
  6. Click Submit.

Review a request after submission

  1. Open Requests.
  2. Search or filter the list by request type, requester, or status.
  3. Click the request name to open the request detail page.
  4. Review Requested for, Submitted by, Assigned to, Fulfillment, Approval steps, Request Details, and Activity.

Approve or reject a request

  1. Open the request from Inbox, email, or the Requests list.
  2. Check that you are the current approver for the pending step.
  3. Click Approve or Reject.
  4. Add a comment if needed.
  5. Confirm the action.

Manually approve a pending step as an admin

  1. Open the request detail page.
  2. Open More actions.
  3. Click Admin Override.
  4. Add an optional comment.
  5. Click Confirm Override.
Use this only when the normal approver cannot complete the step and your team wants an admin to move the request forward.

Assign and fulfill an approved request

  1. Open the request detail page.
  2. In Assigned to, choose the employee who should complete the work.
  3. In Fulfillment, choose the next status for the request.
Use these fulfillment statuses:
  • approved means the request is approved but work has not started yet.
  • in_progress means someone is actively working on it.
  • completed means the work is finished.

Who can see and manage a request

The request detail page is also where notification links from Inbox and email land after sign-in.

Approval notes and timeline comments

  • Approval, rejection, and cancellation comments belong to that specific decision.
  • Timeline comments are general shared notes in Activity.
  • Use timeline comments for updates, handoff context, or follow-up details that should stay with the request record even when no approval decision is happening.

What happens next

After submission, Teamper routes the request through its approval steps in order. If a request type has no approval steps, the request can move straight into fulfillment. Once a request is approved, the assigned employee or an eligible admin can move it from approved to in_progress and then to completed. If the request is rejected or cancelled, Teamper records that final outcome in the request history.

Troubleshooting

I cannot find a request in the list

Check the search box and filters first. You may also not have access to the request if you are not the requester, submitter, assignee, approver, or an eligible admin.

I do not see Approve or Reject

Teamper only shows those actions to the current approver for the active approval step. If someone else already acted, the request detail page still opens, but the decision buttons no longer appear.

I cannot submit a request for another employee

The Requested for field is only available to company admins.

I cannot move a request to in_progress or completed

Assign the request first. Teamper requires an assignee before those fulfillment statuses can be used.
