Overview

Teamper brings employee operations into one workspace. Companies can manage leave, employee records, reviews, assets, company requests, handbook content, reporting lines, calendars, and delegated admin responsibilities. Use this guide to choose the right starting point. If you are setting up Teamper for the first time, start with the Quick start and complete the setup path before inviting your wider team.

Who should use this guide

Use this page if you are:
  • A company admin preparing Teamper modules and company settings.
  • An HR admin managing people data, leave, reviews, policies, and permissions.
  • A manager who approves requests or completes employee reviews.
  • An employee who needs to request leave, find company guidance, submit requests, or complete reviews.

Before you start

For first-time setup, gather:

  • Leave types, such as Annual Leave, Sick Leave, or Unpaid Leave.
  • Leave policy allowances and carryover rules.
  • Employee names, email addresses, departments, holiday calendars, and leave policies.

How Teamper works

Teamper uses connected modules and shared company data:
  • Company settings define working days, fiscal year settings, and company defaults.
  • Departments and teams organize the employee directory; manager relationships power the org chart.
  • Leave types define the kinds of leave employees can request.
  • Leave policies and approver routes define allowances, accrual, carryover, balance rules, and who reviews each employee’s requests.
  • Holiday calendars define non-working public holidays.
  • Employees and Employee Records connect a person to company access, work details, custom fields, emergency contacts, and private documents.
  • Leave requests move through submission, approval, rejection, cancellation, wallcharts, and reports.
  • Reviews run reusable performance-review questions and scheduled cycles.
  • Assets track company equipment and assignments.
  • Company Requests provide configurable forms, approval flows, notifications, and timeline collaboration.
  • Company Handbook gives active employees searchable published guidance.
  • Outlook integration can sync approved leave with Outlook calendars and automatic replies when enabled.
  • Command Center provides permission-aware actions, navigation, and record search.
  • Advanced Permissions delegates selected admin responsibilities without granting full admin access.

First-time setup flow

  1. Set company basics.
  2. Create departments and teams.
  3. Configure department approvers and each employee’s leave route.
  4. Configure leave types.
  5. Configure leave policies and leave policy rules.
  6. Create or import employees.
  7. Send invites.
  8. Submit a test leave request.
  9. Approve or reject the request.
  10. Review wallchart and report visibility.
Set up departments or teams, employee leave routes, leave policies, and employees before asking employees to submit leave. Missing setup can prevent requests from reaching the right approver or showing the expected balance.

Troubleshooting

I do not know where to begin

Start with Quick start. It gives you the shortest path from company setup to the first approved or rejected leave request.

I only need to request leave

Go to Request leave. You do not need the admin setup articles unless you manage Teamper for your company.

A manager cannot see approval requests

Check the employee’s leave approver route. Then verify the selected line manager, custom approvers, or direct approvers for the employee’s exact department or team.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to read every admin article before setup?

No. Use Quick start for the minimum setup path, then open the linked admin articles when you need more detail.

Can I invite employees before setup is complete?

You can create and invite employees during setup, but they need the right department, holiday calendar, and leave policy before leave requests work as expected.

Where do admins check submitted requests?

Admins can review leave request records and reporting from the admin areas. Managers review assigned requests from approval views.
