Overview
Leave policy rules decide how one leave type behaves inside one leave policy. This is where you control whether the balance is limited or unlimited, how much leave is allocated, whether leave accrues over time, when monthly accrual posts to balances, whether carryover is allowed, whether negative balance is allowed, and whether employees must wait before requesting that leave type.Who can use this
- Company admins
Common rule settings
Monthly posting day
Use Posting day when a rule accrues Monthly and you want control over when that month’s leave is credited.- Choose a fixed day from the 1st day of month through the 28th day of month when you want a consistent posting date every month.
- Choose End of month when you want accrual to post on the last calendar day of each month.
- Teamper only offers the 1st through the 28th for fixed dates so the same option works in every month, including shorter months.
- Existing monthly rules keep the 1st day of month after this release unless you update them.
- If you change the posting day later, Teamper uses the new schedule for future months only. It does not re-post the current month or double-accrue an employee balance.
Step-by-step guide
- Go to Leave Policies.
- Open the policy you want to manage.
- Find the leave type rule and click Edit.
- Set Annual allowance if the rule uses a limited balance.
- Choose Accrual frequency.
- If you choose Monthly, open Posting day and select either a fixed day from the 1st to the 28th or End of month.
- Review the summary card to confirm the yearly allowance, monthly accrual amount, and posting day.
- Update any other balance settings you need.
- Click Save.
What happens next
- Teamper uses the posting day you selected for future monthly accrual runs.
- Employee balances increase on the selected day each month, or on the last day of the month if you chose End of month.
- Monthly rules that already existed before this change continue using the 1st day of the month until you choose a different posting day.
