Overview
Leave types are the categories employees see when they request time off, such as annual leave or sick leave. Each leave type has a name, color, duration unit, and active status, and it is then used inside leave policies.
Who can use this
Step-by-step guide
- Go to Leave Types.
- Click Add leave type.
- Enter the leave type name.
- Choose the color.
- Choose the duration unit.
- Save the leave type.
Manage an existing leave type
- Use the Status switch to activate or archive the leave type.
- Use Edit to update the name, color, or unit.
- Review the Policies count to see how many leave policy rules already use the leave type.
When you archive a leave type, Teamper also disables related policy rules and employees can no longer request that leave type.
Troubleshooting
You cannot delete a leave type
Teamper blocks deletion when the leave type is already in use. If you need to stop using it, archive it instead.
Employees cannot request a leave type
Check that the leave type is active and that the employee’s leave policy includes an active rule for it.
