Overview

Use Reviews to run structured employee review cycles in Teamper. Company admins create reusable question templates, choose who takes part in a cycle, set its schedule, and monitor progress through completion. A Review template is a reusable set of self-review and reviewer questions. A Review cycle applies those questions to a group of employees on a timeline. Each participant receives an individual Review, where the reviewee completes self-review questions and the assigned reviewer provides feedback.
Setting up Reviews for the first time? Follow the Reviews best practices and implementation guide for a simple first-cycle playbook.

Who can use this

  • Company admins in companies where the reviews module is enabled
  • Employees who are included as reviewees
  • Assigned reviewers, including managers
Existing participant and draft visibility rules still apply.

Before you start

  • Confirm that Reviews is enabled for your company. When available, Reviews appears in the company sidebar.
  • Decide whether you need a reusable template or a one-off set of questions.
  • Check that each reviewee has an eligible reviewer when the cycle includes reviewer questions. Teamper can use the employee’s manager, and admins can assign reviewers on the cycle.
Reviewees and reviewers cannot access a planned cycle before it launches. They receive an Inbox task and email notification when a scheduled cycle becomes active.

How Reviews works

  1. Create a review template when you want to reuse the same questions and instructions.
  2. Create a review cycle, add questions or load a template, choose participants, and set a launch date and completion deadline.
  3. Choose whether the cycle has no score, uses a final reviewer rating, or calculates scores from custom question weights.
  4. Save the cycle as a draft while you are still preparing it, or schedule it when it is ready.
  5. On the launch date, Teamper opens the cycle and creates individual reviews for its participants.
  6. Reviewees complete self-review questions, and assigned reviewers submit feedback.
  7. Admins follow the roster and cycle state, then close the cycle when the review process is complete.
Reviewer ratings determine the official score. When you use custom question weights, Teamper calculates reviewee ratings separately as self-reflection and does not mix them into the official score.

What happens next

  • A draft cycle is visible to admins only and can still be edited.
  • A scheduled cycle waits for its launch date. Reviewees and reviewers cannot open its reviews yet.
  • An active cycle accepts participant responses until its completion deadline or until an admin closes it.
  • A closed cycle is complete. Reviewees and reviewers can no longer submit changes.

Troubleshooting

I cannot see Reviews

Ask a company admin to confirm that the reviews module is enabled for your company and that you have company admin access.

A cycle cannot launch

Check that it has a launch date, a completion deadline on or after that date, at least one participant, and reviewers assigned where reviewer questions are included. If a listed participant is no longer eligible, remove or replace that participant before scheduling.
