Overview

Connect Microsoft Outlook to keep approved Teamper leave in your Outlook calendar automatically. Teamper creates and updates its own out-of-office events, removes them when approved leave is cancelled or otherwise becomes invalid, and can optionally schedule an internal automatic reply for eligible leave. Outlook sync is different from a calendar feed. A feed is a read-only subscription link; Outlook sync connects your Microsoft account so Teamper can create and remove Teamper-managed events.

Who can use this

  • Employees whose company has Microsoft Outlook calendar sync enabled
  • Managers and company admins syncing their own leave
If Calendar sync does not appear in your personal settings, Outlook sync is not enabled for your company. You can continue using any calendar feeds available from My Calendar.

Before you start

  • Sign in to the Microsoft account whose Outlook calendar you want to use.
  • Make sure your browser allows the Microsoft authorization page to open.
  • Review the Microsoft permissions shown before you approve the connection.

Connect Outlook

  1. Open your user menu and click Settings.
  2. Under Personal, click Calendar sync.
  3. Find Microsoft Outlook and confirm that it shows Not connected.
  4. Click Connect Outlook.
  5. Sign in to Microsoft if prompted.
  6. Review and approve the requested permissions.
  7. Return to Teamper and confirm that Microsoft Outlook shows Connected.

What Teamper syncs

Teamper manages only the Outlook events connected to Teamper leave. It does not use this connection to edit unrelated calendar events.

Retry the sync

Use Sync now when an event is missing or a previous sync failed. Teamper retries current and future approved leave; it does not create Outlook events for rejected, cancelled, or unapproved requests.

Reconnect Microsoft Outlook

Needs reconnect means Teamper can no longer use the Microsoft authorization previously granted. This can happen when consent expires or is revoked.
  1. Open Settings → Calendar sync.
  2. Find the Needs reconnect status and review the message shown.
  3. Click Reconnect.
  4. Sign in to Microsoft and approve the permissions again.
  5. Return to Teamper and confirm that the status is Connected.
  6. Click Sync now if you need to retry current and future approved leave.

Set an internal automatic reply

Automatic replies are optional. Teamper schedules them only for future approved all-day leave, including multi-day leave. Hourly leave is not eligible.
  1. Open Settings → Calendar sync and confirm that Outlook is Connected.
  2. Turn on Automatic replies.
  3. Enter the internal Reply message.
  4. Click Save preference.
Saving the preference does not turn on an Outlook automatic reply immediately. Teamper schedules it after eligible leave is approved. Replies are internal-only and are not sent to external contacts.
Teamper does not overwrite an unrelated automatic-reply schedule already set in Outlook. If Outlook already has automatic replies enabled, Teamper leaves that schedule unchanged and shows an error for you to resolve.

Disconnect Outlook

  1. Open Settings → Calendar sync.
  2. Click Disconnect.
  3. Wait for Teamper to finish the Outlook cleanup.
Teamper removes the current and future calendar events it manages and any automatic-reply schedule it owns before clearing the connection. If Outlook cleanup fails, Teamper keeps the connection so you can retry instead of leaving hidden, unmanaged Outlook state.

Troubleshooting

Calendar sync is not visible

Outlook sync is available only when it is enabled for your company. Ask your company admin or Teamper support contact whether the feature is available. Calendar-feed availability is separate.

An approved leave event is missing

Confirm that Outlook shows Connected, then click Sync now. If the page shows Needs reconnect, reconnect first and retry the sync.

Automatic replies were not scheduled

Check that the leave is approved, starts in the future, and is for a full day or multiple full days. Confirm that Automatic replies is on and that the reply message is saved. If Outlook already has another automatic-reply schedule, Teamper does not replace it.

Teamper could not disconnect Outlook

The Outlook cleanup did not finish. Teamper keeps the connection and its mappings so you can retry safely. Resolve any Needs reconnect state, then try Disconnect again.

FAQs

Does Outlook sync replace a Teamper calendar feed?

No. Outlook sync creates Teamper-managed events through your connected Microsoft account. A calendar feed remains a read-only subscription that your calendar app refreshes on its own schedule.

Are automatic replies sent outside my company?

No. Teamper schedules internal-only Outlook automatic replies.

Does Teamper sync past approved leave?

Sync now retries current and future approved leave. It does not rebuild historical leave events.
