Overview

An approval request only appears when Teamper creates a pending approval task for you. If that task is missing, the cause is usually the request state or the approver setup for the employee’s department.

Who can use this

  • Department approvers checking why a task is missing
  • Company admins fixing approver setup
  • Managers helping an employee understand why leave did not reach the expected approver

Step-by-step guide

  1. Confirm that the leave request was submitted successfully.
  2. Check whether the request is still pending.
  3. Ask a company admin to confirm the employee’s department.
  4. Ask the admin to check the department approvers for that department.
  5. Ask the admin to confirm the approver employee is active and linked correctly.
  6. Review whether the request may already have been approved, rejected, or cancelled.

Troubleshooting

The request is not pending anymore

Approval tasks only appear for pending requests. If the request is already approved, rejected, or cancelled, the action required item disappears.

The employee is assigned to a different department

Teamper routes leave approvals through the employee’s department approver setup. If the employee is in another department, the task goes elsewhere.

The department has different approvers or no valid approvers

Ask a company admin to open Departments, review the employee’s department, and confirm the correct approvers are assigned.

The approver employee is inactive or not fully linked

An approver must be active and correctly linked in Teamper. Problems with employee status, membership, linked user access, or email matching can stop Teamper from using that person as an approver.

The company owner submitted leave for themself

Owner self-service leave can be auto-approved, which means no approval task is created.

Another approver already handled the request

Once the request is resolved, the pending approval task is cleared from Inbox.
