Overview

Company admin access lets a person manage your Teamper company, including people, company setup, leave configuration, and reports. Use it for trusted people who need full company-management access; use Advanced Permissions when someone only needs a specific responsibility.

Who can use this

  • Company admins

Before you start

  • Confirm that the employee is active.
  • Review whether full admin access is needed. Admins have broader access than employees with delegated responsibilities.

Give an employee admin access

  1. Go to Employees.
  2. Open the active employee’s record.
  3. Open the Permission tab.
  4. Under Company role, select Admin.
  5. Save the change.
The employee keeps their existing employee record and gains company admin access.

Remove admin access

  1. Go to Employees.
  2. Open the admin’s employee record.
  3. Open the Permission tab.
  4. Under Company role, select Employee.
  5. Save the change.
The person keeps their employee record but no longer has company admin access. If they need to manage a limited area, assign the relevant responsibility through Advanced Permissions.

When Teamper blocks a role change

Teamper protects the access needed to manage the company. You cannot remove admin access from the company owner or leave the company without an active admin.

Employee status and admin role

Employee status and company role are different: Archived or inactive employees cannot be made admins. Restore the employee first, then update their company role.

Troubleshooting

I cannot select Admin or save the change

Confirm that the employee is active and that you are signed in as a company admin. If the employee is archived, restore the employee before changing their role.

I cannot remove admin access

Check whether the person is the company owner or the last active admin. Keep at least one active admin, and ask the company owner to manage ownership-related access.

The person needs limited management access

Do not make them an admin just to manage one area. Use Advanced Permissions to delegate the appropriate responsibility instead.
